: Suggestions/pics of really nice red colors to paint my car
Luke805 Jul 31st, 04, 06:52 PM I am going to be repainting my 1969 camaro red. I am not going to do it the same red. This last time i used a mercedes color off of an sl 500 , i think the year it was from was 2000. I'm trying to find a red that stands out really well, that is totally eye catching. House of Kolor has amazing colors, but i haven't really seen a red from them.I didn't really set myself on a solid color, but i haven't seen many red metallic colors. Plus I had the body blocked over a ton of times, so wouldn't the solid color show the straightness of the body better? Any input is appreciated.

returnto69 Aug 1st, 04, 02:55 AM generally, the darker the color, the more the body shows the bodywork (or lack of it).
solid colors show any imperfections more than a metallic as a rule.
68 (chevrolet) had a sharp, solid red.
78 (olds) had a nice red metallic.
or, you could spray candy red over a white or silver base coat. that would be sharp.
69lemans Aug 1st, 04, 06:41 AM Porche red, here is what the color looks like.

jethro Aug 1st, 04, 07:19 AM I've got a GREAT red. I'll try to get home and post something... I'm in school right now in Atlanta. It is a PPG. Be aware it is EXTREMELY expensive. The paint cost over $1000, just for paint!
dawg Aug 9th, 04, 03:16 AM torch red is the way to go!
pops out more than porche red.
see my car in torch red.

still needs wet sanding and buffing
Luke805 Aug 9th, 04, 05:37 PM I think torch red looks killer, my question is haven't they had torch red out for a number of years? But is it the same exact color for those years?
CarlC Aug 9th, 04, 08:06 PM OK, I'm biased.
But if I was to do it all over again, I'd still choose 1968 Matador Red.

69SSConvertible Aug 10th, 04, 12:52 AM Pick out your red, then keep adding some yellow until you get Hugger Orange. Far and away the #1 Camaro color, IMO.
KevinImh Aug 10th, 04, 03:55 AM Hey, I have decided to go with red myself. Does anyone have pics of the 67 bolero red? I’m thinking of going with that red and adding a gold peril to it.
Thanks Kevin

There is actually a red called Edlebrock Red - it was developed by/for Viv Edlebrock because all the cars he owns are red and he wanted an origonal red color that really stood out. I saw it on one of those shows like "Rides" or something like that. They showed some of his cars on the show and the color was incredible.
Also, here's a link I found to one of Vic's cars...of course painted Edlebrokc Red.

Just a thought...
