I'm having a problem instaling my cowl vent on my 1969 Camaro. The problem is the panel sits lower than the fenders at the sides. I can put shims under the mounting screws up front but back by the windshield where the panel tucks under the moulding still sits way too low.

The fenders are NOS GM and the cowl panel is the original one from the car. The windshield moulding is also original and sits in the correct position on the fenders.

Is there an adjustment that can be made to get the back of the cowl panel to line up better?

I just did mine. I don't know if this is "correct" but on mine what seemed to set the windshield position was the foam wedge seals. I installed new one and it seemed to work OK. The old ones were pretty squished and didn't give any support.

The seals are cheap; I bought the whole set for <$20.00 (hood to cowl seal, steering column seal, wiper motor seal, cowl vent seals). You could make some pretty easily. All they are is a stiff foam that is glued down. Once installed, they don't show.

Thats the ticket, the v shaped cowlseal that comes in the cowl seal kit is what jacks up the back of the cowl to align with rear upper corner of fender.
