I believe it is asphalt base and this is not the best to use.I like second skins products for price and long lasting effect. Read this link and it will tell you all you need to know...It helped me decide...

I used Fatmat. I sprayed a sound deadener called Quiet Car on my car. It didnt do like advertised. I was really dissapointed. My car sounded like an empty tuna can. Then I used Fatmat, on the inside of the doors and the roof and it turned the tinny soundig tuna can sheetmetal echo to a solid thud. I believe it works. The cars not on the road yet but from the difference I can tell so far its tightening up the car. Do a search and you will find comparisson testing. I read great things on Lizard skin but it cost and arm and a leg.

good luck !

i just installed the fatmat on my floor, and i am pleased with the results. Helped with the drone of the flowmasters, helped with the heat from the firewall and floor. Have only had it installed for a few weeks but so far i am very satisfied.

only complaint is the blue logo printing rubs off on your hands while working with it, but they warn you about looking like a smurf in their instructions :)

Ill be putting it inside the doors in the next week, so we'll see how that goes.

I just ordered some Fatmat off Ebay and while I'll be using it on the floor of my truck, I'll find something else with a higher temp rating for use in the doors, ceiling, and firewall or my truck so that it doesn't slide down. I had this problem with Brown Bread, which is essentially the same thing.

I have the Brown Bread sound deadener applied from under the windshield to the rear of the car, including the rear wheel wells under the rear seat. But... because I ran out of the material I did not cover the seat platforms. I have the Flowmaster 40 muffler and exhaust kit and still get too much drone inside the car. If I remove the carpeting and apply sound deadener to the seat platforms how much of that drone might I eliminate?

I used FATMAT on my floors and second skin on my doors. Car does not run yet but if I had todo again Id do second skin all over the car and then put down FATMAT again on the floors
