I am assembling my interior and when I got to the door panels they fit horribly! I bought the PUI assembled door panels and they are super loose on the top edge. Anybody else have this problem?
Suggestions?

I put mine on today from PUI , the clips did not line up around the edges, the holes for the door handle and window handles were off about an inch, and the arm rest holes did not all line up. At the top I think the panels sit over the window guides. I hooked mine over the guides and they were tight.
The back ones fit alright except when I roll the window up the handle rubs the chorme trim strip. Still thinking about what to do.
I give PUI a 7 out of 10.

Together,
Are you sure you have the right window cranks? The ones for the rear have more of an arch to clear the chrome strip.
There are TWO different part numbers for front and back.

I had the same problem with my rear panels- the cranks hits the chrome. I order all 4 cranks from matt's classic bow ties. They knew I needed front & rear- but all have the same arc. My front assembled panels are supposed to be in this week, we'll see how that fit. I had to notch the end of the rear panels wher they slide into the package tray area because they wouldnt slide back far enough. Once I did that, all the holes lined up.

I bought the gold edition from Rick's. The clip holes were off and they were too long from top to bottom. They hit the door frame when trying to close the door. Had to buy some generic vinyl and cut the bottom off of the panel and glue a strip of it to make a new edge.Looks okay but kind of gives me a vibe of an amateur interior. i was frustrated after a complete resto with having to fudge the door panels. You would think something as simple as door panels they could get right.

Getting ready to replace my panels this week and you guys are scaring me. I was ready to call Ground Up to order the PUI's. Is there anyone else that makes them?

Although it's A LOT more work, I'd use the door panels with used caps. That way you can adjust it to fit. Also, if you choose, you can modify the panels to look original, by making them two piece. (On originals, the cap was covered by a separate piece of vinyl, and then attached to the door panel)

If you don't have caps, watch ebay for beat up door panels or caps. Remember 68 and 69 are identical, except for the location of hole for the door lock. In fact, I had an original 69 door panel that had both the 68 and 69 holes in it, with a piece of duct tape over the 68 hole. I'm virtually positive it was original.

Last time I installed a set of PUI, the chrome strips did not line up on one side of car front and rear panel. I called PUI and the lady, sent me a new panel, no questions asked, You keep the old one. Might try this.

Ted Williams Enterprises (TWE) makes door panels too. I have not bought a set, but they might be an alternative option than PUI:

Classic Industries has Premium door panels listed. Has anyone tried these or know how they fit. They are like $500 for the front and back standard panels.

so has anyone found any that fit well? I'm in the same boat trying to get my interior back together and getting a little concerned as well.

Any suggestions as to new dash pads? Anyone found any that are well made and fit right?

Has anyone here tried to TWE panels, or know if they are even still available? I am curious to see how much they are.

I have a set of the PUI unassembled ones and I am not a big fan of them at all, and do not really want to put them on my car. The chrome trim has the seams in the wrong places, not to mention it is also lifting in a few spots. I even sent them back and got a second set and still the same thing. They also have a lot of foam backing to them, and do not feel the same as the originals. All in all they are not that bad, just not close enough to the original for my liking.
