From this picture, does it look like I could put a stock (or more period correct) radio back in the car?

Here are a couple more interior shots....how does it look to you? It's an undocumented 69 z/28...no original motor & not #'s matching.

The rest of the interior (seats, belts, etc) were reported to be in excellent condition.

no, to put that radio thats in it, the dash plastic had to be cut out in order to install it.

Is it something that a good restoration shop could do and have it look nice?

BTW...really like your car. Great color combo.

You would need to replace the entire guage carrier. The part alone runs over $200 for a repop. Im just guessing $200 for labor.

Heres a pic (http://www.easymoney69.com/Images/Camaro_0060.jpg)of mine. Still not complete.

Thanks. Between the radio & the glove box...what's that panel? Is that an ashtray or something else?

Yes, ashtray.

a little off the subject. Are those aftermarket kickpanels, or is there a hole cut in the factorys with a spacer to make those speakers fit? 6 inch round? was thinking putting some in mine.

I believe since you would be using the woodgrain accent pieces, you could graft cups on the backside of the radio area to be able to use a stock radio. I know I have a radio area I cut from an old housing, and I have another broken housing that may have a good radio area. I'd have to check.

Or you could get a radio delete plate to cover the damaged area. I think they're being repopped, but I don't think the woodgrain ones.

Replace dash carrier, use a radio that does not require cutting radio opening, scratch the kick pad speakers, go back to dual cone front center speaker, chunk the steering wheel for a repop woodgrain. Change the shifter knob to something shiny as per factory chrome ball. Install a better set of under dash gauges maybe the new retro S&W gauges or Autometer. Get rid of red lite near radio. Replace torn door panel. Sorry but you asked.

I have a factory dash cluster complete with gages/ light switch / windshield wiper switch.

The radio area has never been cut.

A bit off the subject, but how did you install the speakers in the kick panels?
