I am in the market for some new rims and tires for my semi pro-street 67 camaro. It is a backhalf car but they were only running 29 x12.50x15 MT Sportsmans on 15x10 6.5" backspacing Weld Draglites. I just took off the back rims and tires and they measure 28" tall on these rims. I only have maybe 1.25 to maybe 1.5" inches between the rim and the wheel wells.
I am looking for new tires and prefer the MT street radials, does any body have these where they can measure the actual installed height on a rim. Alot of these say like 28" or 29" tall but do they really measure that installed, because my Sportsmans don't.
I am looking for suggestions on sizes that will fit this car but not be too big and have to worry about rubbing. I would actually consider a 17" rim as well if had some width to it.
My current setup is 15x10 rims with 6.5" backspacing. I would want a minimum of 10" wide. These MT's look good because they have alot of side wall that bulges out. So I am not sure how different size rims and tires would look with less bulge.
I am open to anything. I do have maybe 2" on the inside I could wider.
