Does anyone know what the ballpark height for the gas pedal should be off the floor? Mine is WAY too low, about 2 inches off the floor and I think it's keeping me from getting to WOT. I think the throttle level maybe be loose. HOW can you get to that inside the engine compartment with the engine still in the car??

Its a VERY tight reach down there behind the engine. I installed new plastic throttle rod bracket and it took me over an hour. Very tiny ratchet helps but maybe your's is cracked like mine which lets it wobble and not work cleanly too. With strong light, look down there and see if anything is loose.

Yep. Also can you grab the pedal and pull it up were you want it with your hand. It could be cracked on the inside of the interior side of the firewall causing this also.

You might have to readjust your rod on the carb. Disconnect the rod off the carb and have someone pull up on the gas pedal and see if the bracket that attaches to the rod is hitting the back of the block. Then you can adjust or shorten the rod. You might have to remove the pedal and bend it also to give you more floor clearance.

That would just figure. Thanks guys. IS there a specific measurement on the height of the pedal anyways? Or is it... put it where it feels best?

oh yeah ..... I take grab the pedal and manually lift it off the floor another ..... 3 or 4 inches easy .... would that "pinch bolt" be coming loose on the rod inside the engine compartment?
