Were all 67 bucket seat backs steel

I believe so....'68 started plastic backs but I believe I read (here) that some late 67's had plastic as well. You might try a search.

67 birds were plastic however

my 67 has plastic backs.im sure they came on car,it only had 60000 miles on it.im the first one to cut any panels on car.car sit for 10 years in building & quarters rusted off of car.

My 67' had plastic backs too and I'm pretty sure they were original. My car has pretty low miles and hadn't been modified.

my 67 was built the 3ed week of march in los plant and it has metal backs..

thats pretty cool..what color/int combo is yours?mine is marroon and deluxe parchment int..not too wild about my combo,but i bought restored and it is correct to the body codes.org 12-bolt and p/g but the org motor is long gone..my brothers 67 also has metal backs,built in may..i think...denny

Lotsa funky colors then...butternut yella and deluxe black int...somehow the motor survived my high school years. Was red until my recent ongoing 7 yr resto...gotta put the tach in this weekend..wax and Im done..well for awhile I guess....Vin ends 50784..

My 03A NOR has metal backs as well

02C LOS with steel.

I have never seen a confirmed original 67 that had plastic backs. Mine was last week in February with the Original Backs. I know 2 original owners of their car, that both had metal backs. I'll have to look up their dates. I personally do not think their were ANY 67's with plastic backs. It would be like saying in 67 you could get gas pedals all plastic.

but its hard to find the metal now.

"Metal vs. plastic seat backs: Transition appears to occur during mid-April or possibly first week of May."

My 04A Camaro has/had metal, my buddies 06C '67 Firebird has/had plastic.

Same here. 04A car had metal backs and my 06c car had plastic.

My O7A car has plastic backs, I know they are original. I'm the second owner and the first owner was a school teacher and I don't think she had a screwdriver.

My 05C car came with plastic back seats.
