On my 67, there were two brackets - one on each end of the heater core. The brackets have a hole at both ends for a screw that attaches them to the case. Mine also had a rubber tube that fit between the bracket and heater core to provide some cushion. I am not sure if 68s are the same.

As fat as I know replacement strapa are not avalible
cut a strip of light panel steel about 1/4" wide , drill screw hole in one end , bend to shape without the bit of foam padding behind the unit, then drill location of 2nd scew mounting hole at the other end.
plce the foam padding behind and screw in place.

Go to my members showroom.
I put a picture there for you.
Would have put it here if I had any idea how to do so.
FOR SURE (100%) you CAN buy them. I just spent 10 minutes looking for where I got them, but could not find. I have 1 and you can have it if you mail me an envelope already stamped, but I bought them.
The picture I have is WITH Factory Air, 327 and what are the ORIGINAL ones. The bottom one in the picture is what they don't sell, but you can bend the ones you can buy to match. You will have to heat it first. I would buy extra, because you will break them learning how to bend so they don't break. I don't know that without factory air that they are not just like mine. I may have got them from NPD. Try this number from them: C-8854-50. It says on my invoice Clamp, Heater Core Mounting/3042867. If that is not it, let me know and I will look some more. If I was you, I would buy 4 of them. They are $8 each and I would rather throw 2 away then bend it, break it and wait for another one in the mail. I am almost positive that they never had a piece of rubber between these straps and where they fastened to the heater core. They could not move at all on the factory air pieces. But, maybe NON-Factory air are different. It would be nice if for NON Air cars they are the Straps you CAN buy.

Let me know.

This is a picture of the original core clip in my non air 69:

There is a piece of foam on the other end where the inlet and outlet tubes are. This is the factory setup. The ones mentioned above will not work in the non air setup.

There is a 2nd clip in addition to the one Jonesy pictured. Its on the inboard side (towards the engine), and is held with two 5/16" screws.

Thought for sure I wouldve had a pic of the brackets, but just have this one that shows the screw holes of where it goes:
