I went to Advanced Auto to try and find an extension or something to be able to get these lugs off of my back wheels. They had nothing.

Any ideas? Does anyone know of an extension for this? The bolts are a few inches long so my tire iron will not fit.

Aaron, this is just a suggestion but a go-thru socket may work. That should be a 3/4 or 13/16, and if it fits over the stud and onto the lug, you would be able to place a deep well socket over the go-thru. Harbor Freight carries one of these sets.... it's not that expensive and very nice to have http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Displayitem.taf?itemnumber=93150

Good luck!!!!!!!!!!

Davie,

I had seen that same setup at Advanced but I was hoping that I wouldnt have to buy that whole kit just to get the darn wheels off. I think I might have to if I cant think of anything else though.

Thanks for the post. That is definitely cheaper than Advanced even with shipping.

thanks.

Are the studs too long for a chrome deep socket to reach the nut ?? I'm betting an impact is too thick walled to fit the recess.

Yes, the studs are too long. And that's another issue. Once I get the wheel off I will want to change the studs out to standard size.
Not sure how to do that, but I'll get there when I get there.

If you're going to eliminate the studs, get a cut off wheel and cut them shorter now so you can get a socket on the nuts !!!!!!!!!

This is simple..........
