A friend of mine just bought a set of new reproduction heads for a flat head ford and in the instructions it says there should be an additive used in the coolant to keep them from corroding. I've heard of this before with aluminum radiators but I thought that was taken care of with newer technology in metallurgy today. Has anyone heard of this being a problem? I'm just concerned about my Dart Pro1 heads I have on my camaro. I don't want to find out later my water jackets are all messed up over a $5 dollar additive I neglected to use. The paper work I received with my darts said nothing of this.

use low silicate coolant (will state safe for aluminum on the bottle)
and most importantly is use distilled water instead of tap water.
