How does the IPod sound. On My 66 Mustang it sounds pretty hollow even with 200 watts. To me the IPod part of the radio sucked. No one that I know so far has built into the radio an amp for the IPod. That is for sure necessary.

thanks for the reply guys. I'm not really looking for a radio now, just wondering if the retrosound units are of good quality. They seem to have some nice features. I really don't like the custom autosound units. They look kinda cheap and I have heard of numerous quality issues.

Those retrosound units look pretty nice. I used to install stereos for a living, and have nothing good to say about the custom autosound units. Sound quality, reception, overall look, all pretty much sucked.

I think i was the one you were referring to as the one who posted it earlier. And no i didn't get it yet. I'm planning on it though, but i'm waiting to hear someone else give a review first. :D

I don't have a stereo at all as of right now, and i may have to pull the trigger regardless this summer. I don't really care about *great* sound quality. Whatever will play my iPod will be good enough for me. I'm mainly concerned about durability.

I was cruising the forums and came across this post, I saw this radio (Retrosound) on Oldspower.com A buddy of mine that has a 68 Camaro (I've got a '69 z28 ) just got this radio (he's got a walnut dash), I guess Classic Industries is selling it now too, that's where he got it from-- I have to say it's pretty cool, he plugs his flash drive right in the front of the face of it and plays his mp3's right off the drive!--- he was telling me how the brackets worked, the company has a pretty cool website www.retrosoundusa.com (http://www.retrosoundusa.com) I checked their support section, they've got videos and a slideshow on an install---

--- I'll check it out his install job closer at the pomona show in a few weeks--- I really like this forum, i've been lurking for a few months now deciding whether or not to go all digital on my dash... that's another thread--- anyway I think I'll pop for one of these next month when the taxes come in--- Thanks for the thread, see you guys around... Is the sound quality or overall quality good? I'm perplexed by the threads stating Customautosound devices are poor quality, but I want my dash to look stock. What's your advice?
Thanks in advance
Steve
