I have a 68 Camaro with a 550 hp 383 in it ,with 255-60-15 tires on the rear and the engine has so much torque that you can just stomp the gas and it will absolulatly set the tires on fire and I was just wandering what would be the biggest tire that I could put on a set of 8''with 4.5'' b/s Weld wheels that I can fit under the wheel weels,to try to cut down on so much wheelspin until I mount My slicks,I may want to try a few runs at the strip Any Help would be appreciated Thanks Camaro BOB

To go to a wider tire you're going to need a wheel with more backspacing.
Maybe go with a 255 drag radial if you want to keep your existing wheels?
At 500+hp you're gonna struggle with traction on any street tire.
