earlier this year i rebuilt a 454 for my 69. finally got to make some passes tonight in the 1/8 mile. by the end of the night my best was 7.668 @ 94.73 with a 1.90 60'. thats naturally aspirated on pump gas. now i just have to work on my 60'. its nice driving it to the track, racing it on the radials and driving it home. i'm more than happy seeing all my hard work finally paying off. :)

Sounds like fun maybe you should throw a pair of slicks in the trunk and kill two rocks with one bird save your street tires and have a faster 60'.

Thats the way to go.... drive it in, click off some decent times, and drive it home

Wow! Those are some really good times for a street driven car. I too, drive my car to and from the track.
If you don't mind, I would like to more about your car. Engine specs (of course), tranny, rear gear ratio, car's weight, etc etc.
So far, I am down to a 7.40 in the 1/8th mile with my car.
It is a BB powered 68 Camaro with 3.73 gears.
I am looking to get into the high 6's this year.

its a .030 over 454, forged pistons 9.7:1 CR. GM grind hyd. roller cam, roller rockers, rpm air gap, iron eagle heads, 830 DP, msd ignition, th350 with a 3800 fuddle converter. spooled 9" with 3.73's on the M/T DR's. the car weighs about 3600 lbs. with me in it. i don't think thats quite enough for high 6's in unless you weigh about 3000.

You did not say what you had holdin the rearend in. But, a nice set of double adj rear shocks and a set of clavert bars would go a long way lowering the 60' times. don't forget to fix the front end too. Good shocks there also.
