Hi out there. I am looking for any info on how to remove the ignition lock from the steering column. I have the wheel and all other parts removed, but my manual does not show to remove the lock itself. It says to place a prytool into the turn signal housing and break it free. I am not to sure how or where this is located. Thanks in advance for any info. CJ

Do a search, it has been discussed many times, and some of the threads have pics. Once you see the pics, it will be very obvious where to break the flashing.

The slot where the release button is located is 1.75" in from where the lock butts up to the column housing.

It's in section 9 in the '69 Chassis Service Manual, with photos.

CJ,
I went through the same thing a couple months back. Here is the link for a picture that someone posted when asked the same question.

It's really easy once you figure out where to punch through with the screwdriver.
Hope this helps

Thanks for all your help. Pics. are wonderful! After looking at the pic., in a couple of minutes, pop, out it came. Cleaned up and painted the column and put the new Grant Walnut steering wheel on, boy does it look good. Once again thanks.......Chris:beers:
