Iknow this question has been asked many times, but I really need to know if 17x 7 front and 18x8 on rear will work on my 69ss with no modifications to the rear wells or to the front. I have stock disc on the front and drums on the rear. Thanks for your help...

Without desired tire width and wheel backspacing measurements there's no way to answer you question.

Being conservative, a 7" rim with 4" backspace carrying a 225 tire will fit in front.
An 8" rim with 4 1/2" backspace carrying a 255 tire will fit in the back.

You want absolutes from here, you get conservative. Bigger may and probably will fit, but then you're into measure twice buy hopefully only once territory.

I run C5 Corvette wheels on my '68 - 17"x8.5" front with 245-17-45's and 18"x9.5" rear with 275-40-18's - no wheel well mods other than rolled fender lips on the rear wheel wells. With the right tires and backspacing, you should be fine with 17"x7" and 18"x8" wheels.
