Just blew one of the hydrolic lines right at the brass coupling, does anyone know if you can repair this or do you have have to buy all
new hose kit?

I kinked one of mine and it broke about 2 inches from the brass coupling. I tried NAPA, ACE hardware and a few local auto part stores, but could not find a compression coupler to fit on the tubing. The tubing is an odd size/thickness and none of the compression fittings I tried would fit correctly. I even tried air brake couplers. I ended up just getting a new hose.

did you order the hoses from a repop supplier or did you use hose from hardware store?

i'm wondering if something imilar to what is used on an ice-maker line would work.

I would not recommend the ice maker line. The hydraulic line is designed for the high pressure which is much higher than an ice maker will ever see. And the material is designed to be compatible with the hydraulic fluid.

Don't risk having it leak all over the back of the car. Get a new line. I got mine thru NPD. Works fine. Just remember how the line was run from the pump.

does anyone know the fitting specs? size, thread count and such? I am eventually going to need to replace mine and I am planning on going with stainless braided brake lines to replace mine.
thanks

When I was a poor college kid back in 1980, I actually "spliced" a broken power top line and it lasted for about 9 years. I used a two inch length of steel tubing (probably brake ine tubing), sanded both ends to narrow the diameter just a touch to get it into the plastic line, it was a very tight fit. BEFORE doing this I slid about four inches of rubber fuel line up one side of the broken plastic line. This was then slipped back over the break point and clamped down with a small hose clamp on each end. I was amazed that it worked - never leaked a drop in nine years. Desperation can lead to amazing results.

Reviving an old thread with the info this poster was looking for. Since I need to build custom hoses I emailed convertibleparts.com and asked the fitting size. The fittings in the pump are 1/2"-20 inverted flare. The fittings in the cylinders are 7/16-24 inverted flare. Hope this can help someone some day.

I'll add the direct link to Covertible Service for future reference - http://store.convertibleparts.com/index.html

Their hose assemblies are a first rate product - correct fit and quality materials
Much better quality than some of the 'other' suppliers I've seen!

These folks will fix you up with OEM or better quality parts for prices very competitive with most 'repoppers' ;)
I've been doing business with them for years and never had a problem with a product from them.
