a few weeks ago i had asked questions on how to remove the dash pad. i finally got around to it yesterday and have some additional questions. when i took it off ,some of the old clips seperated from the pad and there appeared to be some sort of brown epoxy holding the clips to the pad. the clips were old and rusty looking (original?) can i just replace the clips? the top of the pad looks fine its just on the passenger side the clip had seperated from the pad and the pad was sticking up some. if i replace the clips how do they stay attached to the pad? sorry for the ramble but i either have to spend 250 for a new pad or 15 bucks for clips. also saw a chalk number (12) written on the underside of the pad is this original?

thanks

I replaced my original pad back in the early 90's and dont remember any brown epoxy stuff holding the clips on but it's been a long time. I used some of the original clips and a couple of new that I had ordered with the new pad. I had to replace that early 90's pad last summer.(It had developed a big honkin split above the speedometer.) Could still tell the newer 90's clips from the rusty originals. Yes, clips may be purchased separately from probably any resto house. I had to bend slightly some of the clips so that there would be enough tension against the pad to keep them from falling off till you can get it back in place. Hope this helps. Jim
