I used to run them -- they work good for a low 12 maybe high 11 second car. Much faster than that and IMO you have to get a little more serious about the suspension setup. I went 10.9's with them but they have a lot of anti-squat built in and they were getting inconsistent on me at those ETs.

My best 60' time with the SSM bars was 1.46 on motor.

thanks for the feed back. if i can get the 60' in the 1.5s i will have a place to start and go from there. my combo should run 11.0 or high 10s when its dialed in. thanks

I run em but never run the car without, so I don t know how good they are. I run high 12 s with m/t et streets and it gets out of the hole pretty good. By the way, you can only get them used, I think ssm has gone out of business.

You can still get them through Jegs.

With 11.0 ETs I would skip the SSM bars (or Jegster bars, or whatever they call them now) and go to Clatracs or Slide-a-links. I am running high 10's and with SALs it's gone 1.420

I ran them for many years and had good luck with them. But I just took them off and put on Caltraks.

I had a set of ssm bars on my 66 Mustang(years ago) and my best 60 foot was 1.55. I installed a set of cal trac bars and with a week of Calvert racing setting them up i got a best of 1.62. I have a set of Smith Racecraft bars on my Camaro now and am very happy. http://smithracecraft.com/ .I have not gotten a pass down the track yet(first time out i broke the driveshaft) but the manufacturing is awesome! The ssm bars do work if you got them use them. jmo
