Hold off, you can get a better deal than that on www.camaross.com and www.ls1tech.com

Mileage and condition are everything... In this vintage and price range stay local to your area or you could add $800 or more to the price for transporting the car to you. Trader Online shows 6 '97s in and around the bay area none are less than $6k. Add '96 to the mix and there are 13 of them listed but the prices stay above $6k.

Check out the sites Hylton references but keep in mind geographic location, a better car in Kentucky may be a lower price but is it worth going after and then trying to bring it into CA and passing smog etc...

Again condition and mileage are everything with these cars, the typical 4th gen Z28 has been used and abused.

Sounds as if the car was cared for and the price isn't bad. I've seen LT1's in the Phx AZ area and the are asking for as much as 8-9k!! A little high I know but my point is if the car is cared for and you really like it then go over it with a fine tooth comb and make your decision then. These cars do get abused because of the fact that they are powerful and people will use that power.
