hello. im building a 67 camaro on a budget and soon it will be exhaust time. i looked in the summit racing catalog and website and dont want to pay more than 300 dollars on a system which eliminates magnaflows. then i came across the summit racing exhaust system with mufflers for less than 200 dollars. if there are other exhaust systems, let me know. what i want to know though is the summit racing exhaust worth it, does it sound good, and how are they. if someone has them can they tell me how they are. the other thing is that i don't know how they sound so if they aren't good i would most likely have to get a different system for more money. if someone has an audio clip or video of the exhaust system, if you can post the link that would be great. thanks.also, if i get the summit exhaust, can i eventually change the mufflers to a flowmaster or magnaflow muffler and keep the summit pipes.

Hay Scott. I bought the 2 1/2 inch manderell bend exhaust kit from summit for my 69. I am amazed that I like the sound, beecause like you I had my doubts about a cheap system. What I didn't like about the system was the clamps that held the system together. So after I installed mine I took it to a rinky dink exhaust shop here in town and had them weld up all the seams. Then I took the clamps off. I paid them $80 to weld it up and saved myself a little money. If you don't like the sound when its all said and done you could always get different mufflers down the road. GL

The Summit system is a great buy.

You will not regret it.

Did you have to remove the rear shock to install the tail pipes???
