How did you go about doing it? I'm sure some of the fellas (myself included) would like to give it a try too,and would be interested in hearing /seeing the steps you took.

I'll have to try and write some thing up with some pictures attached I have some pictures in my photobucket before the panels were covered.I think the hardest part was around the tail lights and it would be allot easier with out the fuel sell.I did the whole interior this way its not as professional as an interior shop but it works for me...Thans again for the compliments....It sure means allot...

prostreet69camaro Mar 15th, 08, 08:00 AM Dave, It looks very nice. I can see you have put alot of work into your car. And the best part is you did it yourself. When your at a show and someone comes up and ask who did it, you can say I did. Makes you feel good. Hope it is getting warmer there so you can finish the car.

Thanks Mike for the inspiration its about 55% here today I'm working on my door panels. Its a pain in the but trying to get the rear around the tubs I used the old ones to make a template.I also buffed my wiper arms today and put those on as well,I think I'm getting close if the wipers are going on...

Looks nice what material did you use,I used tweed Rod Doors told me when I called about there close out panels that tweed went out in the 60's needless to say no biz for dem...I bought all my materials from Your auto trim Jason is a nice fella...
justincat Mar 15th, 08, 01:04 PM I like the aluminum trim around the hinges!!! I just used mdf from lowes, and speaker box carpet from autozone. I might redo the carpet and ad some trim if I get motivated
capt68 May 30th, 08, 06:35 PM Dave,
That is an awesome car.
Justin,

brendan 67 May 31st, 08, 02:03 AM Medium Density Fibreboard or otherwise called customwood.:)

Never heard it called sustom wood in the states, but some call it MDO (overlay). It looks like particle board, but I think it's slightly denser.

Fred Ficarra May 31st, 08, 10:13 AM Isn't that stuff made from glued-together sawdust? I've got some thicker pieces down in the barn. Takes two men and a boy to pick up a half-sheet.
If weight is a factor I would suggest quarter inch plywood, or is it now as expensive as gas?
Phatbudde May 31st, 08, 01:33 PM The "glued together sawdust" is far better than plywood for enclosure boxes. Being more "dense" than plywood it enhances the sound, especially the low sub hit. A good box will be glued and all cracks filled with silicone to prevent air escape.
