Okay I was about to put i the fuel pump and I tried to push the level and I can't believe how hard it is to pump it. Is this normal? It seems so incredibly hard to engage.

yup, they are not meant to be pushed by the human hand unless your hand needs a workout of its own.

...what he said. Also the pump lever doesn't move much when the engin is runnng,..maybe half an inch.
