What is the best way to replace the rollers (white plastic) on the door windows?
It seems you can buy the whole bracket set for about $60.00 per side OR you can buy just the rollers for about $7.00. The single rollers seem like they need to be riveted or something.
Do any of you have experience with either scenario?
Thanks,
John

It would help if you put the year of the car. I have a 67 and would only want to answer to that.

Call Rick's (Eckler's) and tell them what you need. I have a '67 also but I'm sure they have everything you need. They are easy to install. The only suggestion I have is; make sure you do them one at a time to ensure that you put them on facing the same direction as the one remove. You'll need a drill, hammer and punch to get the job done.

I have roller experience with both 67 & 68 Camaro’s. But both had (have) factory power windows so, they REALLY need to operate smoothly. Usually when I took the interior out & studied the rollers I could tell which one(s) were wore out. Usually I could replace just that one roller & everything would be fine. The last time this happened though, I replaced every roller one by one. The window still would function properly. Then, at last, I bought the whole steal bracket unit that came with rollers already attached. For some reason this cured the up & down movement to where it operates smoothly now. I never could really tell why the new steal bracket unit worked where my original didn’t. Somehow the steel bracket was worn out, not just the plastic rollers. If you can see & determine which roller looks worn out, save some money & just replace that one. Ususally that works.

I don't know how to say this without sounding like a jerk and I am not trying to be one. But, the guy above may not have adjusted the window properly if he thought replacing the bracket fixed the problem. I would think that it would have to be noticably bent to affect the operation of the window. Windows are very hard to adjust when you are new to doing it. It can be done, but you have to be patient and allow time for you to understand what all the hardware does.
You should be able to fix everything with the individual pieces/rollers. I would start there.
For the 67 there are different kits that rivet or tap a screw. I like to do original style.
