: What do you know about Mar-Glass

I bought Mar-Glass to use in my trunk after I patched the holes. Will this work for my application and is it safe or will it cause moisture? I want to cover the areas that i've patch welded and ground down. I know that POR is better but I had already bought this before I found that out and I don't think the auto paint store will take it back, it's been too long. What is the best way to apply it? It says it's paintable. Thanks

As far as I know, Mar Glas is a bondo type material with fiberglass in it for increased strength.

Thanks J,

I was hoping for a little more info. Does it go on easy and cover good with paint?

You will most often have to use some type of top coat over Marglass, although I haven't used it in quite some time. Marglass will produce small pin holes and doesn't finish as well as Evercoat Glaze or the like.

Hi Toby,

Can you top it with 3m sealer or should I just prime and paint it? Thanks

For the amount of work involved I would probably top coat it with a good plastic finishing filler. Evercoat makes some very good products. At that point prime, block, prime, block, prime..... you get the idea.
