I'm considering using the ProCar Rally 2000s buckets with the matching rear seat cover in my '67. I would really like to use the leather seats they offer instead of the vinyl seats. Anyone gone this route? How's the quality of the leather and craftmanship? The other option would be to order them uncovered and have someone fab custom leather covers and installing them. The stock ProCar leather seats (2 buckets and 1 rear bench) would cost about $1600 total (plus shipping) and the bare seats (2 buckets only) would run about $500 (plus shipping) plus the cost to recover both buckets and the rear seat. I would think that the custom leatherwork would cost considerably more than $1100. Either way, I still would like some input on the quality of the stock ProCar leathers before considering them further. If the quality is marginal then I may decide to spend a few hundred more and get a custom job... if the quality is good then I may just go with the stock ones.... decisions, decisions.

Do you know what shipping would be for both buckets and rear seat?
It might be just as cheap to just get the front seats and have covers made for them and the rear.

Junior, I don't know the shipping cost. It is probably very dependent upon the proximity of the shipper to me. Summit Racing does not charge very much to ship the vinyl seats that they offer (handling fee + oversizing shipping). Unfortunately Summit does not offer the leather seats so I would guess that it'll be a little more for shipping through someone else. I guess that's the million dollar question... can I get custom leather covers sewn up and installed for about $1200 - $1300 (if I assume about $100-150 shipping). That seems to be the break even point for either way I go. My main question is about the quality of the leather ProCar Rallys. If they are not very good then I may be willing to pay a little more for a custom set... if they are pretty good then I will probably go with the ProCars.

if you order from summit like it did for my vinyl ones, the shipping was dirt cheap and you can always return them, right?

John, Summit does not offer the leather version... only vinyl and velour. I have read plenty of reviews on the vinyl seats but I'm looking for a review on the leather ones.

Good idea John. I checked with Summit and below is how they responded:
I can special order them for 587.69 each. The entire order will have a 11.75 handling charge. The oversize shipping fee per seat is 9.00.
If I go this route then I'll follow-up once I get the seats and let you know my opinion on the quality. It may be a few months before I pull the trigger but at least I have a plan.

Yes, I plan on getting the matching leather rear covers also. I have installed DSE minitubs so the rear seatback is a little narrower than the stock seatback. I'm not sure it needs to be reworked in the local area or if I can just simply pull the excess in that area. I have read some posts on this problem but all of them were using stock seat covers.
