I was at a dealer today looking for a quarter panel for my car. They told me the Goodmark panel were as good as the originals but didn't know what metal gauge they were made from. Can anyone tell me what gauge of material Goodmark panels are made from?

I just installed some dynacorn parts that I bought from Bel-Bob. I found that the upper cowl and cowl sides were .040 or roughly 20 gauge.I went out and bought a econmical digital dial measure tool and made it simple to do this.I would assume that goodmark would be about same thickness as dynacorn but would be still good idea to measure . I needed to make a accurate call on thickness because I needed to adjust my new spot welder I bought to install parts. Joe

I e-mailed GoodMark and this is their reply.

(All our panels are stamped overseas from .8-1.2mm automotive grade
steel. )

This doesn't help me at all. I don't think they know what gauge of steel their panels are.

After I replied to Goodmarks first returned e-mail above tilling them I didn't understand their answer they sent me this reply.

Modern automotive grade steel is measured in metric mm, not thousandths.
It is approximately equivalent to 18-20 gauge, depending on the panel.
