How many of you left the EDP coating inside of your new doors and how many primered over them?

On my doors I left it as is.

Other parts (that show), front fenders, valences, etc, I prepped and finish painted.

Most repro parts these days are truly EDP coated, but that wasn't always the case, some were just shot with a blast of cheap primer to keep them from riotting away on the boat.

Rub the stuff with a rag soaked in laquer thinner. If it doesn't come off on the rag, it's true EDP.

Nice. Thanks Jim. Hows the progress on the car? Won"t be seeing mine for at least a year or more. Complete gut job. All new metal and possibly some other goodies.

Oh, while I have some attention, there were two pieces that were screwed on the door. Seemed like a piece of felt or some other material glued onto it. Is probably a guide of some sort for the window. Is there a piece you can buy to replace or should I use my imagination and put something in place of?

Car is moving along. Running again, and busy tuning EFI...

Those peices are guides for the windows, and are very nesessary. I have never seen them reproduced, but didn't look real hard either. The fabric/felt on mine was very worn, I glued on peices of denim from an old pair of jeans!

Part WR-74 at Rick's $9
Make sure you put in before the glass or it won't go in after.
Install it as far away from glass as possible until the glass is in and you are ready for the adjustments.

Thanks everyone. Did a search (duh ) right after I posted this and seen what I was looking for. Figured I'd just get a piece of material and glue it on since the pieces are still good.
