(Now that I've hacked mine into pieces...)

Does the one piece replacement trunk pan for a 68 come with the shock tower crossbrace?

I'm about to become very sick to my stomach....

Does anyone have a pic of the underside of a new trunk pan where it would meet up with the interior floor pan?

Calm down...Yes it does! Heres a so-so shot of the underside of a 69. Imagine its a 68',because other than the rear section, they are the same.

Just a word of advice here. When replacing panel like this it is a good idea to have the replavement in your hands so you know wnat to remove.

For the full trunk pan replacement, you are better off using new frame rails, since the old ones need to be removed for the install.

??

Why's that the case?

The one piece floor will not slide into place with the rails installed. I tried personally with my 69, and the pan collides with the trunk hinges, inner wheelhouses, and the old rails. This was with the tailpanel and old trunk floor completely removed. Even though it seems as if it will slide right into place, it just will not go. Some guys have had success removing one rail, and one inner wheelhouse, and installing the floor up from the bottom, but by the time you do all of that, you might as well just go for a pair of new rails and be done with it.

In fact, the Goodmark installation center even recommends new rails with the trunk floor installation for this reason. Once you remove the old rail, its very hard to not chew it up some in the process.

I agree 100%

I just did the full floor in my 69 and although I am replacing the inner wheelhouses too, it was a tight fit. I had to cut the inners out and bend the trunk hinges outword to get it in. If my Car wasnt a real SS with the Left side Exhaust bracket I would have replaced the rails. I spent more time cleaning them up than I would have replacing them

Nice fitting trunk though

I replaced my full trunk pan with the frame rails on & the inner wheel well in. I just had to remove the brace for the hinges.
