just wondering if anyone else has had trouble with a speedmaster sfi balancer. i built a 496 and used one and after about 100 miles the engine developed a rattle that sounded like a loose pully . i tore it down and when i shake the balancer it has somthing loose inside it . you cant get to it but it feels like a large piece has broken loose and is rattling inside . ? thanks
p.s. i wont buy another one.

Imho, it's best to at least buy a stock damper and I think Mike, (Wolfplace), posted pic's of a cheaper damper that came apart if you want to do a search! I wanna say CHINESE damper??

it looks like a good balancer. it is billit with a bolt on weight for external balance. and is sfi approved. . it just rattles when you shake it. it came with a speedomotive stroker kit new. i think im just going to put on a good old gm balancer and forget it. thanks

It wasn't balanced to the engine if there's no balance mark's on it!
