I am painting the interior of my 1967 rs camaro, that has never been redone. The primer paint I was sold was PPG K36 Primer and the saleseman said it was what I needed. When I read the the paint spec sheet now that I am ready to paint it said it can't be sprayer over lacquer? I will be calling him tomorrow, but thought I would post it to see what others suggest.

I have used K36 Primer on interior of Camaros with no trouble. I believe the
difference is K36 is more high solid content than K32. Be sure and sand well
and clean, clean, clean. Wear a good respirator.

I used k36 over lacquer on a trunk and it started to split apart after a while.

The solvent in K36 is chemically hot enough the raise fresh laquer. Old laquer should be no prob.

PPG DP epoxy primers are the only thing that will go under and over lacquer and they wont tell you that because they dont want to be responsible if something goes wrong. Also dupont velvaseal sealer will work over and under lacquer that is what I usually use because it is not as agressive.
