I have a 2001 camaro. i want to remove my k&n intake, and build a customer dual intake. Before i start, one thing is bothering me. What tha hell is this gray connector plugged in at the beggining of the intake hose to the right. I have pasted a picture below, any advice would be appreciated. thanks.

That would be your IAT (Inlet Air Temp) sensor. If you are building an intake setup, it will need that IAT sensor installed in it, ahead of the throttle body somewhere.

That sensor regulates the air temp and the computer retards or advances the timing according to what the sensor is telling the pcm. Is it colder air or hotter air coming into the engine. You will need that for the new intake. One question? Why are you getting rid of the K&N set up for a dual? The K&N set up flows plenty of air for what that engine needs. You wont get any benifit from dual set up. The K&N is plenty for even a highly modified engine! Why spend money on something that you don't need? Use it on a mod that will help with hp. Just a thought.
