Just purchased two new trim rings for my parking lights. I can't seem to get them to stay put, anyone got any ideas or have this problem also?

I had the same problem. I just "tweeked" them to the correct shape and then used 2 part epoxy to keep them in place. (I taped them in place with blue tape until the epoxy set up.) One year so far and no problems. Hope this helps, good luck. :D Mike

I had same issue with mine, they didnt want to 'set' in place. I used a one part epoxy liberally inside the chrome piece, positioned the lens onto the chrome slowly, then layed the lens - chrome down - on a piece of newspaper which was on top of a thick towel, then another towel over the top of the back of the lens, then a 10# bag of grass seed I had in the garage on top of that top towel. I let it sit overnight, next day the excess epoxy had oozed from the edges of the chrome, I trimmed it away with exacto knife and so far after a year have held on with no problem. Any newspaper that stuck to the chrome piece just washed away with no effort.
My memory tells me that discussions have held that the trim ring was used only in the first few months of production on the 69s. Im not sure when they stopped for sure.
I also read the same trim ring was used on later LaGuna Chevelles and other chev cars too.
Funny how such a simple piece has such curious background.

The parking lamp lens with "bright trim" was used on early productions rally-sports only as stated in the ordering info. The outer circumference of the lens was painted silver. The January 2, 1969 dealer ordering info no longer mentions them as being part of RS equipment. Maybe a supply issue.
