Well. Today I got my Doug's 368 headers. I was under the impression that these would work with my raised port heads. They won't! These headers have the std. flanges. What headers do I have to get to get the correct fit?
I will be calling Doug's tomorrow to see if they have any answers.
I guess I could have the holes slotted. Any volunteers? That would be a job that I won't undertake.
I'm just a little pissed right now!

That's really bizarre. Doug's catalog has a footnote that says "Fits D-port cylinder heads including ZZ4 crate engines". I'd be interested in knowing what Doug's tells you because I was about to by some 368s myself. Keep us posted.

The motor is currently on an engine stand. I just test fitted the headers to the heads. There is no way that the bottom of the port will seal unless the flange is slotted at least 1/8 or more. That would allow the headers to be mounted higher on the head.

Hooker super comps are suppost to be the ticket..that you don't want to here ,as you just got headers ,thats why I went with AFR heads stock location for the exhaust ports as I already had new headers(500.00) and I didn't want to slot the flange holes aprox ......(.200 ) down to let the header raise up..IMO send them back and do some home work ....sorry Dave not much help ...Good luck and Happy Motoring soon I hope

I couldn't get a hold of Doug's today. I tried 4 times. Each time they wanted to leave a message for a call back. I don't have dedicated phone at work so I didn't leave a message.
I dropped the headers off at a machine shop to have the holes slotted. Will pick up Friday.

Supercomps have the same problem. Check the archives for Fastburn heads and headers. There's a bunch of info.

I would have been a little more aggressive with Doug's, but I guess its water under the bridge now. This is the first I've heard of problems with these headers and fastburn heads. Sorry to hear you're having problems.

All Doug's needs to do is build a set of D368's with the d-port flange plate. I think all would be good if they did.

I slotted the holes, then put a spot of weld in the top of each hole with a mig welder to keep them from slipping back down. Oh, it was on Super Comps on a second gen. The headers are scraping the pavement on the primary tubes.
