I was cleaning up in the garage and cam across a Crower cam grind # 294SF and was wondering if anyone has any input on this cam? The specs Are IT-Duration 294 Lift-528 EX-Duration 300 Lift 545 LS-114 Duration at .50 is Intake 256 EX-262 Intake open at 18.0 BTDC Intake closes at 58.0 ATDC Exhaust Opens at 69.0BBDC and closes at 13.0 ATDC. I am thinking of putting it in a 355 with flattops and compression of 10.5:1?

I remember an old Crower cam that I was running in a big block chevy....It was called a "Hydraulic Hauler" and had a duration of 290 I.-302 E. with a lift of 529 I.-539 E. and a 108 LS.....This was the biggest cam you could stuff in a stock BB motor without worrying about valve spring bind or piston to valve clearance.....I believe the power range was 2000-5500 rpm.....It had a nice lopey idle to it and really did haul!

The way the cam was cut it should work nice and smooth in that 355...as long as the compression is up. It will be WAY torqeuy in the mid-upper band. Good luck.

I figure you need 11.5 CR. so it will run like it's meant to.

Jmho..
