I was thinking of putting a new dash pad on my 77 Camaro. The original is starting to buck up around the front of the dahs and it looks horrible. I was considering the dash pad from Classic INdustries or Year One that is like 279.00. Also there is another company that makes just a cover to go on the old pad for about 70.00. Anyone have any experience with these products? How difficult are they to install for a weekend restorer. Thanks!!!

Don't know if the cover will help. These are noted for curling up under the pad and it's about impossible to fix and not make a big mess. The replacement might be the way to go with this.

Hey 77camaro, yea, toms right. I have 72 RS and the dash is pulling up REALLY bad on pass side. Inherant design flaw. I'll be facing same issue within year or two on this one. I will buy replacement dash. What I have seen guy's do in a pinch is screw the panel down with long sheet metal screws, looks real tacky unless you put the cloth dash cover on. Then you can't even tell. I've heard several different methods to try and fix this problem if it's not too bad. One is using heat gun until dash is soft & pliable, then using glue,(and i can't remember what kind), place dash back where it goes and try to hold it there until glue dries. Mine is too far gone for that, and I don't have any personel experience trying to repair one. Good luck fixing yours, and when your done let me know how hard it really is. http://www.camaros.net/forum/biggrin.gif
