Hey guys, just wanted to know if putting a power steering box on a 68 camaro from a nova is worth doing. Ive got parts car that Ill be using all the power disk brakes off of and got to thinking why not use the p/s set up too. My 68 is not p/s. I know about the 3gen but Im just looking to save money and still upgrade at the same time. Thanks Aaron.

If you want power steering and don't care if it drives like a 60s/70's GM car, then go for it.
If you want steering that feels more like a modern car, you need to get the 3rd gen box.

If its a Saginaw 800 I'm sure it will fit up. The ratio may be anything so if you just want power on the cheap go for it!

Also check out the Lares 972 quick ratio power steer box, a 1st gen box with 3rd gen IROC internals. Search this site for related posts.

How many miles on the Nova?
Chances are it is worn down and loose. New boxes go for $125.00.
