View Full Version : 68 rag joint install ? orange 68 Mar 24th, 08, 06:56 PM I have a 68 and the rag joint looks as if it is tearing(manual steering). I have a big block installed and don't want to take the motor out to replace the rag joint. Is a rag joint replacement possible with the big block in the car. Also any instructions will be a great help. From just looking seems as though it will be extremely tight to replace. Don't want to mess up paint on fenders. Any suggestions? As mentioned, you have to disconnect the steering column to move it back out of the way, but you do not have to completely remove it. I will probably replace it but if a good rebuild would be easier and just as good I would rebuild it. Any thoughts? You can get them at Advance Auto for sure, and the Checker, Schucks lines from the same company I would imagine.
