A guy is wanting to sell some pistons, and said that they are .125 over bore. Does that sound right? I have never heard of a oversize 427 piston that was .125 over bore.

He said that your bore needs to be 4.375, can you get that much with a 454 block? without having it sleeved.

Thanks for the help.

I've seen lots of people bore a 454 block .100 to 4.350, but .125 sounds like alot.

You could have the block sonic checked to see how thick it is.

corny,
.125 is a pretty popular over bore with the drag racers, but definitely requires a sonic tested block, and preferably also filling the block with Hard Block. I would probably pass for a street engine,
