I searched the archives but couldnt find any help.

I just replaced my entire front brake system (calipers, proportioning valve, master cylinder, booster, and lines. I have tried but have been unsuccessful bleeding the brakes. I can not get any fluid what so ever at the bleeder screws. (even the rear) I've tried the helping buddy technique, gravity method, and even went out and bought a mighty-vac that didnt cure my situation.

any suggetions on how to diagnose what the problem can be?

Thanks for your help :)

Check that you have the lines going to the correct positions on the proportioning block form the MC.

Did you bleed the new MC before installation?

You never mentioned whether the peddle pumped up or not, or if it did that it went to the floor when cracking one of the bleeder valves.

Do you have bleeders at Master Cylinder? If so start bleeding there. And yes make sue all lines are going where they should. I just did my entire system on my '69 new everything. I read about a lot of nightmare bleeding stories on here so I was prepared to spend some time. A buddy and me had it bleed in an hour. We just pumped it slow. Open a bleeder valve. Then pumped it 10 times and held it and opened a bleeder. Also I'm sure you know start in the back first.

I did bench bleed the master and it does have the bleeders on it. The lines are plumbed as per instructions. Pedal pumped up fine.

I'll try some more tonight with patience

I’m going to bleed my new CCP system in the next week or so. How much brake fluid is required for the master cylinder and brakes?

(I’ve read a few posts and I think I’ll use the Napa brand or Ford Heavy Duty DOT 4 fluid.) Do I need one pint or two?

I borrowed a pressure bleeder and was successful getting fluid to all 4 corners.... but..... my pedal is still soft after I start the car. It goes right to the floor. I am sooooo frustrated :(

now what?

i was told not to put the pedal to the floor during bleeding should have a 2x4 under pedal other wise the brake rod can tear gasket up in boaster

Good stuff on getting the brakes working.

Matt,

Get two, one will never be enough and what is left of the second will be useful later.
