I have a 68 camaro with 67 doors and fenders, the guy that gave it to me restored it somewhat years ago using a 67 parts car. I would like to make it 68 again, can I use the 67 fenders with 68 doors or are the body styles different? I would like to use the fenders I have, they are in good shape, If they are the same I would like to cut the holes for the side markers and save some money. If not I'll have to sell the ones I have I guess, or leave it a 67 body (not my preference, I would like to make it 68 again. Thanks!

You can use the fenders if you cut the holes for sidemarker lights. As far as I know that's the only diff. in fenders. And then change doors. What about grill? Is it 67 or 68? Good luck.

The grill, the taillights, all 67, I wouldn't mind if the car was a 67, but it's a 68. Thanks Steve. <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by stevo camaro:

Yea, you need to start buying parts. To bad, but all 68 stuff as you probably know bolts right on. Hey, what are ya gonna do with all the 67 stuff you pull off? I am your best friend right?

Well the grill is cracked, the lens on the lights in the grill is spidered looking, I have 2 sets of taillights, the black area on them is not that good, and some pitting. The doors are in pretty good shape, need the old paint and stuff stripped, new rubber and felt and extra main glass, needs new inside panels with arm rests and stuff. I need to sell them to help relieve the pain of all the new doors or used if I find any. Even so I don't know what to charge, I'm sure I won't get much. I found some used 68 doors from a salvage guy who fixes them up, he blast them and puts new skins on them, he wants 475ea complete. If you need any of my parts let me know, stuff like the tail lights I let go for next to nothing, maybe nothing for a set. New benzels are like close to 100ea with no lens. That seems high but what can you do. Thanks Steve <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by stevo camaro:

Charlesc, I would'nt pay that much for doors without looking around first. last year I bought 2 cherry 67 doors for my SS and only paid $150 for both. This last weekend I bought a 68 camaro, pretty sparse with the parts, for only $100. Both front fenders & hood in good shape, body from firewall back is very straight including both doors. Interior is completely gone, as is the glass. All stainless trim still on car in good shape. And 4 15x7" ralleys with rings. The window regulaters are in trunk along with a 67 console. There are lots of other misc. parts too. I would keep looking charlesc for a better deal on doors. Of course, I don't know what parts are available in Florida, but around here you can still find them sitting under the tall pines in the mountains if you look hard.

I have been looking for a parts car, reasonably priced, but the ones I find, only 2 they will not part with and are rusting away. I also found a convertible 67 sitting under a tree with a old torn blue tarp over it, he won't sell either, it needs alot of work. Wish I could find a deal like you got, man you came out smelling like a rose on that one. I had one guy reply to my add on this post said he would be glad to trade 67s for his 68's, I e-mailed him but he hasn't replied back. <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by stevo camaro:

Good Charlesc, I hope this guy comes thru for you. Don't you hate it when they say,"No it's not for sale, I'm going to restore it, Or I'm going to get it running." And the car is sitting in the rain & snow, year after year after year. All mine that aren't running right now (3) are under cover, DRY! I better stop before I go on a rant. I hate watching musclecars rust away while they wait. There's a 69 RT/superbee, 440, 4-speed car, all there, sitting in a field rusting. It just pisses me off.

O.K. I'm going, See Ya, stevo

Charlesc, if your still looking for '68 doors, maybe I can help. Call my friend in Orlando at 407-699-5199. He has lots of parts and doors for sale-used. Names Rick. Tell him Gene told you to call.

Stevo Camaro,

Dont worry about the superbee rotting away, arent Mopars Made Of Parts Already Rusted (m.o.p.a.r) right?

sorry, that was too good to turn down and it fit perfectly.

O.K. chris you got me http://www.camaros.net/forum/tongue.gif But when I looked at collector car price guide, this particular car was worth $75,000 in #1 condition. Turns out they only produced something like 240 of them. Oh yea, and my wife says "make sure you tell him my lebaron convert has 224,000 on it and it runs great!" http://www.camaros.net/forum/rolleyes.gif WOMEN! http://www.camaros.net/forum/rolleyes.gif
