Somehow I don't think he is refering to a lowering block, but if he was, and removed it there by raising the car, that would increase sway. I think he is talking about a small, maybe 3"x3", metal block that is attached to some mono leaf spring cars of that era. If I recall correctly, it is mounted midpoint between the axle and front of the spring. Seems to serve no purpose, but GM must have put it there for a reason, perhaps spring dampening of some sort. Anyone know about that block? Never seen one on a Camaro, so maybe the Nova site can better answer your question. http://www.novas.net/forums/ Lobstah Mar 29th, 08, 06:08 AM I just pulled one of my spring assy's off, and there was a tapered, bronze-looking block between the springs and the perch. I figured it was for pinion angle?...is that what you're referring to? Jim DOUG G Mar 29th, 08, 02:37 PM Yes, can you post a pic or measurements ? Lobstah Mar 30th, 08, 06:51 AM Hopefully this link will work: http://picasaweb.google.com/DowntheroadSS/CamaroStage1?authkey=HS_Rw56Atwg Jim DOUG G Mar 30th, 08, 03:49 PM OK. Thats just a shim (to change pinion angle)... Not a block like I thought there would be. Lowering blocks are usually 2" tall or more. |
