Yeah, I saw that already.

You know what's really interesting? -------- They were predicting the demise of the muscle car back in the early 70's too, LOL.

I suspect that gasoline-guzzling vehicles will, in general, fade away as pollution increases and crude oil inventories decrease. However, technology has a way of surprising us, and I believe that new replacement energy sources will eventually be found. For instance, there are already some amazingly fast electric cars being produced. They could be recharged with solar power, and well, how can you argue against a car like that?

I May Be Telling My Age , But After Reading This It Reminded Me Of 1974 When Electronic Ignition Came Out . The Experts Predicted That It Would Be The End Of The Hot Rod Era And The Average Person Would Not Be Able To Work On Their Own Cars . They Predicted That The Performance And Automotive Accessories Market Would Drop By 50 % . I Wonder When These Experts Will Learn That The Customers Decide What Will And Will Not Last . I Don't Hear Team Members Running To Sell Their Cars Because Gas Will Reach 4.00 A Gall .
Ok I've Been Rambling , For Me It's About Passion And Love For Our Hobby . If In 2017 Chevrolet reproduces A Drop Top Big Block With A Body Style I Like Would I Buy It ?
You Bet Your Butt.

Hey, nothing wrong with your age...you've prob got a lot of smarts picked up along the way that tend to be overlooked by today's standards... and you made an excellent point of these so called experts who try... key word try to predict the future. When they get it right, the whole world has to know about it... but when they get it wrong...?

I think the car world was caught flat footed with most of them doing the catch up thing of... see how much HP you can now can have, as evidenced by the ads of today, and the come back of the Mustang/Charger... with good old Ford being out of the chute as they were back in '64. Sure a lot of Mustangs around! The price must have been right.

I sure wish I knew what age group are buying these cars today, and who will be buying the Camaro when it comes on the market. Will it be the boomers, who by that time will be in the position to purchase, and the bulk will be retired or about to retire, or will it be the tech wizards who are making the big bucks of today. And you know, I haven't heard from anyone on this site speculate... as to what the price of the new Cam, well optioned up will be...so, you made me think when you posted your thoughts.
