james7773 Mar 29th, 08, 01:16 PM Looks like a nice car. From the pics, its easy to see where that bow in the hood came from.

Looks like it has the optional headlight washer RPO CE1 which was standard with RS.
RPOL72 Mar 29th, 08, 05:50 PM The resto looks semi-pro at best, but the car does have some cool options (speedwarning, headlight washers, fold-down rear seat, etc).
OK69 Mar 29th, 08, 10:41 PM Love rally green, one of the best factory colors........
ChevyThunder Mar 30th, 08, 11:48 AM If I hadn't just bought another car two days ago I would push the BIN ... If that car checks out I think it is a fair buy at that price.

ChevyThunder......Exactly what is it about the car that makes it worth $74.5K to you if it checks out? I have the high bid on it now at $60K and thats about all I feel it is worth. For the kind of money he wants I can buy a very nice restored RS Z.
Fred Ficarra Mar 30th, 08, 05:55 PM Yep, headlight washers. I'd hook 'em up. And that's a glass hood. Are cross ram hoods glass? I noticed when trying to identify the fitment problem adjacent to the fender tops.
Jeff H Mar 30th, 08, 06:45 PM Looks like an Offenhauser crossram polished up.

I would agree with you on the 60k... for me if the car and parts check out I wouldn't mind owning it for 75k because I would like to have a car like that with a little race history and a crossram that I could go have fun with. Wouldn't be the first time I paid more for something than it was worth, I am good like that.:D
clill Mar 31st, 08, 08:14 AM Maybe a year ago I was offered this car for I think around 75K which I thought was a good price for the car until I realized the crossram wasn't a GM piece. I wasn't told any of the drag race history and wasn't sent any of the race pics. At that time the owner said he didn't know it wasn't a GM crossram when I pointed it out to him.
clill Mar 31st, 08, 08:36 AM From the ebay ad he states orig door panels but they look like the puffy repos. The armrests for the fold down rear are a bright white that don't match the side panel. I would assume the fold down was added. Has radio delete but has the radio ground strap to the subframe. It would be nice to see the engine pad stamping. I wish I remembered more about it or could find my pics.
ChevyThunder Mar 31st, 08, 09:26 AM Without the cross ram being a real GM piece I wouldn't be interested in it as that kind of ruins it for me. Plus the lack of the GM crossram takes a nice chunk out of the value
firstgenaddict Mar 31st, 08, 10:16 AM I thought that the interior looked like it had been replaced as well...
Hylton Mar 31st, 08, 11:03 AM Wow! This one is only worth 60K but that barn find in Ontario is worth 40K? Maybe my logic is off. :clonk:
lcmc Mar 31st, 08, 11:16 AM Something I find a little strange is that the assembly date and casting date are the same for the engine. Both are 12/12 but the car is an 01C. I know this is possible but I'll bet it isn't a numbers car. If that thing was drag raced what are the chances the original engine is still around?

Amen to that! My thoughts exactly!
This just helps to validate that the barn find car for $60K is way over market. Even at $40K, (for the barn find)one has to wonder if the investment would be recouped in the short-term ,since this Z with some neat options and good color combo is only worth $60K.
satz28 Mar 31st, 08, 11:37 AM They are hyping the "factory" cross-ram, and the special factory 2-point safey harness which is no more than the shoulder belts.
I thought this car was discussed on Team Camaro a few months ago.
zbo2 Mar 31st, 08, 12:55 PM the casting date is 12-12 the assembly date is 12-20....he made a typo in the listing...nice looking car also looks like it has a heater delete
