I purchased a set of Wilwood 4 wheel street disc brakes with their tandem aluminun master cylinder. Do I need to run this system with a booster or will manual 4 wheel disc work.

It depends on what size piston you have in the master cylinder. They make 3 size pistons. 7/8", 1" , 1-1/8" or 1.16". I have been looking at there master cylinders also.

I have their dynalight calipers, 12.2" rotors and 7/8" master. No booster used, none needed.

Who sold you that combination? Wrong stuff! Exactly why we do Total Car Brake Packages so the buyer knows everything works together. Hopefully the seller will swap out the master for the right one. You need the 260-9439 with 7/8" bore master

Isn't that a awesome pedal feel? I just love it. Ya know I actually set up Lisa's, all 110 LBS of her, Project EmptyNest with that master set up.

It is indeed awesome. As light as power brakes, but with feel and modulation that can't be had with a booster!
Thanks for settin me up with em, Frank!

Frank I got a brand new Moser 12 bolt with 33 spline axles, a tru trac posi, 3:55 gears, Ford housing ends and a new Wilwood rear disc set up with parking brakes. The master cylinder was just thrown in with the package for under $2000. I am looking for a front Wilwood disc kit to go with the rear, so any helpfull advice would be great. Also I am willing to buy a new master, just tell me what I need. Thanks:thumbsup:

My master cylinder has part #260-8555 and 260-8556/-P.

That was a screamin deal, even without the master! To help you out, I would swap the master if it is a 8556P, I sell plenty of these. I have no use for the 8555, never sell it. Is your rear kit drilled and slotted? Are you looking for a 12.2" front? 140-7675?

I checked the box and its an 8556-P. All of the parts I purchased are new with the exception of this master cylinder. So Frank is this usable as a manual system, or do I need to add a booster? My rear rotors are not drilled.

OK, so you either need a booster or a master. I would do a manual master personally, but I have nice boosters too. I have a few kits that will work up front. Your going to need some other stuff too. E Brake cables, hoses, proportioning valve.

Call me tommorrow 8 AM to 10 PM eastern time at four zero seven 832 1752 and we will get you sorted out.

Frank that is great advice. Never buy a brake package that is not 100% complete when doing an upgrade. The incidental parts and additional time alone can make this a miserable project. I bought a complete package and all new brake lines. The installation went smooth and now my car stops the way it should have from the factory.

Any Orlando cruises or BBQ's coming up Frank. If not I can arrange for one.

As I mentioned before I got the Wilwood rear disk kit as part of the rear end deal. The rear has ford housing ends so the brake kit was a blessing considering that I don't see many brake kits for it.

I placed an order with Frank last week for the Wilwood 12.2 rotors with blue calipers and I can't wait to get them on.

I will post pics of all my work when I'm complete.
