I'm looking to get a new set of rear leaf springs for my 68 to replace the sagging monos that I just took off. Motor is a 489 dyno'd at 687 hp so I was thinking of going with the 5 leaf springs and using the Detroit Speed conversion kit that allows you to use the mono plate and mono shocks (I have Bilstein so I really ant to keep them). My question is this. 1) Will springs that will fit 70-76 Camaros and 70-76 Novas fit my 1968? Some adds say a certain spring will fit 67-69, then another will say that its spring will fit 67-80 camaros and novas. Were the spring lengths the same on all 1st and 2nd generation camaros and novas?? Thanks

Morning Fred ,I got inlightened by reading Mr. David Pozzi's site material and pro touring material ,and the numbers of T/C members that have done this conversion ,
If your looking for some technical explanation ,that would half to be directed towards, someone that lives and knows the geometry of suspension, and that aint me, I claim to know just what I have read . Happy Motoring:)

Well, while I am not sure if this is exactly what the original poster is looking for. But the Hotchkis TVS kit does provide a perfectly matched set of front and rear springs and front and rear sway bars all designed to work together, at a great price. DSE has good springs also, and is a viable option for one doing springs only, or wanting a specific amount of drop as they offer 2" and 3" drop springs.

We install and sell both products, both are excellent.

Back to BB489's question,,,,,,,,,,,,

I didn't want to add eariler as this was told to me yrs ago.Now I am going way out on a limb here ,I don't have the time to investigate this I do not have a home computer ,only at work, before ,break ,lunch, but back in 1990 I got 2 sub frames from a Nova guy and he was telling me that 67 to 76 Nova's were the same as 67 to 68 Camaro's(we know sub frame's) in the fire wall and down the floor pan , same springs I would assume if the attach points are the same in front Torque box and rear spring eye as Camaros ANYBODY ELSE.. Now Fred :) if your in the market for a Jig ,I can help ,I am cretin most of us know what a Jig is ,but in a nut shell ,it is a tool of various size's small to very large 3 to 4 stories in height, length in the ones I service 30 /50 to 100 ft, it has futures( index points) that will locate parts to a known engineering dimension with repeatability every time so you have consistency over and over ,in what ever you want to assemble ,me its Airframes, with engineering conformance checks 2 to 3 times a year tolerances +/- .005 we use conventional optics and laser alignment systems to shoot these critical features and rework if they fall out of conformance ,this is my daily bag…So if ya need a jig let me know..Happy Motoring :beers:

I really like my JCW 3-leaf mono replacements even tho I did tweek them.

PS., and I saved this too just for this..

"Here's the information on these springs. They are made by S&G Enterprises, Inc. Their website is S&G Enterprises and the part # is 21-245. They are made in Mexico. This same part shows up on this website Triangle Spring as factory replacement springs. They don't list the details such as spring rate on either site though.
My JCW cat. is number 671J-02 and the spring number is 94UA2669X at $62.95 each.

If this cross references to one of the numbers you listed which should be the second one down.
More info on the JCW springs. According to the sticker on the springs I installed from Vette Brakes the JCW/Triangle and VB springs both have the same PN (21-245).

I am going to assume they are the same spring given the PN and the fact my VB springs were labeled "Triangle". This would make the JCW springs #130.

The curious thing is after the install my rear end is about an inch higher with the VB springs than other who have used the JCW springs. (Yes, everything was tightened after it was on the ground)
