View Full Version : Any idea what my car is worth?
Norcoastal Mar 30th, 08, 03:54 PM I think that I have a pretty rare optioned car and I was wondering what it will be worth when I've completed the restoration.
It's a 1968, Corvette Bronze with a 327 and 350 Turbo trans.
The Factory Options are:
Rally Sport
Vigilite Monitoring System
Deluxe Interior
Air Conditioning
Power Windows
Remote Mirror
Console
Power Steering
Power Brakes
Any thoughts???

Norcoastal Mar 30th, 08, 04:46 PM It's going to have a complete ground up restoration.
Norcoastal Mar 30th, 08, 05:24 PM If it is only worth high teens, it begs the question, should it be a resto-mod instead of trying to be original.
I was going as original as I could. But maybe that's not the way to go?
SS hood, torque thrust wheels, high HP motor, spoilers etc.???
What do you think?:hurray:
tmannet Mar 31st, 08, 08:16 AM I'd vote for going original, personal preference. Steven, I'm sending your a pm regarding this car--

How much documentation do you have? How long do plan to own the car?
If you're heavy on doc's then I'd probably sway toward keeping it close to original, wheels and tires are easy swaps.
If you plan to own it long term then build it the way you will enjoy it...an restored original that sets in your garage collecting dust is (IMHO) value-less.
Norcoastal Mar 31st, 08, 01:29 PM I know that it is an original RS with the options I've described since I'm only the second owner, but still, its not a matching numbers engine.

You're in kinda the same boat as I am, my car is a 4P and has the factory traction/torque bar, original dual exhaust hangars (and a few of the other tell tales) so I'm convinced it's an original SS350 but the entire original drivetrain is gone and I have no documentation so....it's getting a 406/200r4 transplant....and I'll get miles of smiles.

If done right it will be worth more than high teens. IMO
foreverlookin Apr 1st, 08, 01:26 AM Steven do what makes you happy with it. As others have said without the documentation, especially for a 68, everyone will beat you down on the fact that there is no paper work to back it up so enjoy the car the way YOU want it.

How can a person figure what the car is worth when it is not even close to completed ?
Norcoastal Apr 1st, 08, 01:50 PM My question was based on all of the factory options, I'm assuming that it will be a great restoration when I'm done.
I'm taking my time and doing it right.
