Installed my new leaf springs and was going to install my new KYB rear shocks. The upper mounting for the old gabriel shock mounted with two small bolts. The new shock has a single threaded post that is supported by rubber bushings and washers. Is there a shock mount plate that bolts on the the previous mounting points and reduces the hole diameter to install the other style upper shock mount? I did a search on here and did not get a definitive answer.

Thanks in advance.

yes. i had the same problem with my 'bird. some people decided to put the incorrect shock back there and in doing so, probably discarded the plates. not expensive or hard to replace.

Same here. I had mono shock plates on a 12 bolt/multi-leaf rear. I never realized it until I went to put on new Koni shocks. I may be wrong, but it's my understanding that multi-leaf springs are supposed to have the single "ear" for a shock, and mono leaf have the dbl ears.

I am actually talking about where the shock mounts up into the trunk area. I also had multi-leaf srpings with mono leaf bottom plates. I don't see an issue in continuing to use them with my Hotchkis springs.

It was the words "shock plate" that I "heard" and word "upper" that I missed in the original post. Sorry :).

I'm currently going through the exact same process to correct what someone had done on my 67, except on mine they actually had the wrong lower shock plates as well (I just picked up some new ones from DSE at the Good Guys show on Saturday).

Although there are probably numerous places to get the part you're looking for, here is one link:
