There is a cylinder about 2 feet long and 4" diameter with 2 brackets. It sits at the back near the latch. It is bolted to the trunk pan with 4 bolts. A tag on it says:

AUTOMATIC SKID CONTROL
A SAFETY CONCEPT FOR THE FUTURE
A LIVING REALITY TODAY
PAT. PENDING SER. #1340
FLUSHING RESEARCH CORP.
720 E. MAIN FLUSHING,MICH.

I took it out when we replaced the trunk pan. It has fluid in it. Evidently, if you corner hard it tranfers weight to the tire that is "lightest". I looked it up on google and did not find anything. It looks like factory built stuff. Anybody know anything about this?

There were a few devices sold back in the 60's that used shifting weights or hydraulics. Also lots of automatic wheel balancers with fluid and steel balls inside a circular tube.

Never heard of that one.

Snake oil! Toss it. Get some sway bars.
