Sorry to be uninformed but what is a NOS part? I have a 68 that I was going to restore but it looks like I have a gold mine in parting it out. It was a 6 3 spd now has a 350 pwr glde. Straight body deluxe seats. West Texas car rust around rear fender wells have been repaired and signs of rust where windshield leaked in corners. Doors don't sag and lids latch smooth and tight. Not quite ready to part out yet but could you tell me what NOS is. Thanks

Davbuff-

NOS = New Old Stock... esentially a part that has never been used ... (New) ... but been around for a long time (Old) ... and 99% of the time is discontinued. There is other NOS stuff besides automotive, but in the car context they are normally original parts...(GM, Ford, etc..)

Don't cut or part the car out in my opinion.

There there is another, NORS which is "New, Old REPLACMENT, Stock". Meaning it is NOS "non OEM" (Original Equipment Manufacture). So, you could have an NORS ball joint for instance that was made by Moog in the good old USA twenty or thrirty years ago. It is a MUCH better part than the Taiwanese JUNK of today.
